About Buenos Aires

The City:

Buenos Aires, the capital city of Argentina, is a cosmopolitan city and the economic heart of the county.  It is also an important artistic and cultural center of the Western world.  There are a surprising number of museums, theaters, bookstores, live music venues, outdoor performers, concert halls, libraries, and art galleries.  Buenos Aires is also renowned for the high level of quality education offered at its academic institutions and universities.

The Climate:

The climate of Buenos Aires is temperate and humid.  The average mean temperature is 18° Celsius.  Summers are hot and winters are mild.  In January, the average temperature is 24.5° and in June, 11°.  Temperatures rarely drop below 0° or rise above 36°.  It almost never snows.

Nightlife:

The nightlife in Buenos Aires is one of the most exciting in the world.  Young portenos, as the locals are called, often go out late in the night to pubs, bars, and boliches (discos) and stay out until dawn.  Other activities such as theatre, movies, milongas (dances) and festivals begin earlier, but can also carry on until morning.
